26th & 27th November 2022 | Rotary House of Service, Indiranagar | Rtr. Akshay Keerthi
As the monthly ritual goes, RCBI, in collaboration with Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar, hosted the 8th edition of project Vastradaan, a campaign to enable the lesser privileged of our community to embrace a shopping-like experience and gift themselves a pair of their favourite clothing.
The clothing collection was put together by collecting gently worn clothes and segregating them based on categories such as shirts, t-shirts, pants, jeans, dresses, skirts, etc. These clothes were then hung on display at Rotary House, Indiranagar. For its 8th edition, people from slums and other weaker areas at Old Byppanahalli were invited to visit Rotary's free shopping centre.
Like its predecessors, Vastradaan was yet again a success, with over 300 people visiting Rotary House to collect their favourite pair of clothes. A total of over 700 pieces of clothing were distributed over the course of the day. Vastradaan is expected to continue its spreading joy, with more and more people from across the city benefiting from it.
